What computers does it run on?
AWOL Guardian runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) — that covers the vast majority of home and work PCs. There's no Mac or phone version yet; if you're reading this on one, email yourself the link and grab it from your Windows machine.
Is the free version really free?
Yes. Download it, scan as often as you like, and see everything it finds — no account, no card, no trial timer. You only pay if you want the Guardian to act on what it found (fix things and keep watching 24/7).
Why is the download so big?
The full 3.6-million-signature virus database ships inside it, so the Guardian works completely offline. Nothing about your files is ever uploaded anywhere.
Windows warned me about an unrecognised publisher — is that normal?
Yes, for now. We're a new, independent product and our code-signing certificate is in progress. If you're happy to continue, choose More info → Run anyway. The SHA-256 fingerprint above lets you verify the file is exactly the one we published.
Can it delete my files?
No — it never deletes anything, full stop. Anything suspicious is moved to a Safe Room where you can see it, and one tap puts it back exactly where it was. Nothing happens without your yes.
How do I cancel?
Any time, through Stripe's billing portal linked in your receipt — no phone calls, no hoops. Your card is handled by Stripe; we never see it.
